Frequently Asked Questions:
What if my child hesitates to join the class or leaves the mat?
This is very common in early childhood. Young children often make several attempts before fully participating. It is a normal part of their development and adjustment. Parents are encouraged to speak with instructors for personalized guidance on how to support their child’s transition.

BJJ (GI) / BJJ (NO-GI)
7-9 Years
Building discipline, confidence,
and strong fundamentals.

Building upon the foundation established in our younger age groups, the Kids 7-9 Program introduces a broader range of Jiu-Jitsu techniques while reinforcing essential skills. Students at this stage begin developing sharper focus, better coordination, and a deeper understanding of movement and discipline.

Program Objectives:
– Instill self-discipline and personal responsibility.
– Enhance physical awareness and coordination.
– Strengthen agility, balance, and endurance through targeted drills.
– Increase situational awareness and positional sparring ability.
– Use goal-setting as a tool for continued progression.

Continuing Development:
– Reinforcing positive behavior and discipline.
– Improving group focus, participation, and teamwork.
– Advancing foundational Jiu-Jitsu techniques.
– Strengthening confidence, communication, and problem-solving.

Program Level:
Level 1 – Fundamentals
Level 2 – Advanced

Level 1 (Fundamentals):
Students focus on building a solid technical base in a fun and encouraging environment. They remain in Level 1 until they demonstrate confidence in core techniques and basic sparring. Classes include more structured drills to improve movement, resilience, and the ability to ask technical questions effectively.

Level 2 (Advanced):
Level 2 is designed for students preparing for competitive Jiu-Jitsu. Training is more intensive, with an emphasis on advanced technique, competition-style sparring, and strategy. Consistency in attendance and a strong work ethic are required to remain in this program.

Program Belt Ranks:
– White Belt
– Grey Belt
– Yellow Belt
– Orange Belt
– Green Belt

Frequently Asked Questions:
How does my child advance from Level 1 to Level 2?
Progression is based on technical readiness, focus, and instructor evaluation. Unlike belt promotions — which recognize effort, consistency, and improvement — level promotions reflect a student’s readiness for more advanced training. Parents may speak with instructors at any time and consider private lessons for additional support.

How does my child qualify for Level 2?
Students must demonstrate strong technical ability, discipline, or competitive performance to qualify.

When can my child start competing?
Competition readiness varies by student. Instructors will provide guidance based on technique, maturity, and confidence.
